Fundraising is under way to keep children dry and warm as teaching turns to more outdoor learning.
Three sturdy wooden shelters are being sought to protect pupils at Hyndland Primary School from the elements.
The school’s parent council has launched a fundraiser and is appealing for donations from the community.
A fundraising page says: “We need strong wooden shelters and fun play/learning kit in our playgrounds.
“Somewhere dry to eat snacks and lunches will be great too!”
It adds: “Covid-19 means we are outside more than ever. But even before Covid we would get soaking wet while outside learning, playing and eating our packed lunches.
“We need strong wooden playground shelters so we can be warm, dry and happy.
“From the ‘Toppy’ to P1, we want sheltered spaces for play, learning, and just hanging out in.”
