News about our re-opening

We at the Afty are very much looking forward to seeing everyone again for the new term.  This is to confirm we will be opening on Wednesday 12th of August. Now that our guidelines have been issued and the school have published their return to school plans, we are able to confirm how we will run our service for the coming months.

We have attached detailed advice on how we propose to accommodate your children – please read so that you are aware of where to collect your child from.

We are pleased to confirm that we will continue with Breakfast Club from 7:45am as a drop-in service initially, with the caveat that we will do our best to keep children in groups according to their classes.  We will, remain open until the P4 -7’s go into school at 9.15am.  We will no longer be accepting cash payments for Breakfast Club, please make payment through the bank, using your family name as a reference.  The bank details are Bank of Scotland, account number 00299404, sort code 80 07 65.

We have been working diligently with the guidance we have received to create a plan of how we will run the service.  We will be operating from Wednesday 12th August, please let us know if your child is NOT attending on Wednesday 12th, or on the first day that they are due to attend the Club, by 2pm at the latest.  Please remember the school do not inform us of absences.  This is especially important as we have been asked not to make unnecessary visits into the school building, so we do not want to have to go looking for children.

These documents contain our plan for how we will be running the service. Please let us know if you have any queries:

Also, please read the Scottish Government’s Coronavirus (Covid-19): guidance on re-opening school age childcare services.

You can also read our Coronavirus Risk Assessment document (PDF).

We regret that we are not able to offer a drop-in service for After School at the moment.

We would like to reassure you that we are adhering to all the guidelines regarding cleaning, the use of PPE, hand washing and distancing and we will be keeping children and staff distant where possible.

Thank you for your ongoing patience while we are adapting to a new way of working.  We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon!
