New branch of Hyndland ASC at Notre Dame Primary

This afternoon we received confirmation from Glasgow City Council that our let application for use of facilities in Notre Dame Primary has been approved.  It is our intention to open a new branch of Hyndland After School Club at Notre Dame Primary after the Easter holiday to cater for children who attend the school.

We decided to apply for this let for a number of reasons.  Firstly, the move will enable Notre Dame children who attend our after school club to benefit from being based in their own school, and make use of the excellent facilities, rather than having to walk to Hyndland every day.  As we will no longer be required to hire extra staff to escort children to Hyndland, we will therefore be able to reduce our fees for parents and carers.  Finally, as we always have a high demand for places and a substantial waiting list, we hope we will now be able to accommodate everyone.

This is not a new service we are offering; just a relocation of a current one.  We have been providing childcare for children at Notre Dame Primary for over ten years, and we have 60 children registered with us this year.  Our move will not affect the positive relationship we have with the other after school club which is based in the scout hall on Victoria Circus.  The difference between our clubs is the opening hours; the other club runs from 3pm-4.45pm, whereas we are open from 3pm-6pm and by law we are regulated by the Care Inspectorate and our staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).  We have children who attend both services, therefore we will continue our practice of referring parents and carers to each other’s service in order to best accommodate their needs.

We look forward to building on our relationship with Notre Dame Primary; we have already had meetings with management in the school and we are committed to upholding the school’s ethos and excellent reputation.

More information will be provided to parents and carers in the coming weeks; in the meantime, please feel free to contact us on 0141 339 9526 or office@hyndlandasc.org.uk if you would like more details.
