Hyndland and Notre Dame Primary 1 Club

12 noon to 3 pm, August-September

A typical day at P1 Club

P1 Club is a great chance for the new Primary 1 children to make friends and get used to the Afty in a quieter, calmer environment, without the busyness of the Primary 2 – 7 children.

Playworkers will collect the children from their classrooms and bring them up to the Afty Club Hall at 12:15pm.

P1 children from Notre Dame Kids Club will be collected from their class at 12 o’clock and walked down to Hyndland.

The Primary 1 children will have a peg in the cloakroom that they can store their belongings.

After this, it is then time for the Primary 1’s to have their packed lunch. This can take a while, and Playworkers will do their best to encourage the children to eat as much of their lunch as possible.

After lunch, Playworkers will take the children outside to play.  The children will have the playground to themselves as the older ones are back in class after the lunch break.

An organised activity will then be offered by a Playworker, usually some arts and crafts or cooking.

The children will then be offered snack from our Healthy Living Award menu. Once all the children are finished with snack and have tidied up whatever they have played with inside, it will be time to have some more play outside, before they are collected, or before After School Care starts for the rest of the school children.

The Notre Dame children who have an afternoon place (up to 6pm) at the Kids Club will leave with staff at approximately 2.45pm.  Those who are only attending the P1 club should be collected at Hyndland by parents/carers by 3.15pm sharp.
